Look at this darling kangaroo given to me today by Karen, the store manager at Webs. Isn't she adorable? I am glad she was there to keep me company at the book launch at Webs. Great company, great food and drink, and most of all a very grateful and humbled kangaroodyer. How can I thank everyone for the love and support in making the book Hand Dyeing Yarn and Fleece a reality? It is a Webs book, all but one of the patterns are from Webs staff, the only other by Barbara Giguere of Shelburne, a beautiful pair of kangaroo mittens. Two knitters, Bonnie Lemme and Gwen Steege, knit scarves for the book.
I love you all. Gail

What a wonderful launch! It was such a fun event, from your introduction of all of the people who supported the creation of the book, to the champagne toast, to your story about becoming a dyer, to Kathy's demo...Mostly, though, what I was struck by was all the love in the room.

I ordered your book after Kristin Nichols mentioned it in her blog. IT IT WONDERFUL! I am a new dyer, well, soon-to-be-new-dyer and am so inspired by your book. I love the fact that you tell me how to set up my 'studio' and how to get started. I am in the process in gathering supplies and can't wait to start.

Congratulations on your new book Gail! Everything I've heard about it makes it sound wonderful. I haven't thought much about dyeing myself (as there are so many excellent indie dyers like yourself) but I hear you make it sound both irresistible and do-able.

Can you liken the birthing of a book to the birthing of lambs?
